Murlant Magazine #1 made its triumphant debut on May 27, 2026, delivering five conniving stories packed with monsters, prophecy, rebellion, superheroes, and holiday bashing action into one oversized anthology experience. Combining the spirit of classic comic magazines with a modern indie edge, Murlant Magazine launches with a mission statement loud and clear: comics should feel massive, strange, unpredictable, and fun.

At the center of the debut issue is Roken #1, a dark fantasy epic fueled by rage, grief, and destiny. After discovering the existence of a mysterious cosmic being known only as the Storyteller, a figure capable of determining the fate of every living soul, Roken and his younger brother Arthur begin a dangerous journey to confront the entity responsible for shaping their lives.

But their mission nearly comes to a brutal end when they encounter the monstrous cyclops known as GodMonger.

Hot-headed and relentless, Roken charges headfirst into danger while Arthur struggles with fear, doubt, and the crushing weight of the unknown. As impossible odds stack against them, Arthur must decide whether he can rise beyond fear and stand beside his brother before their journey ends before it truly begins.

But dark fantasy is only the beginning.

The next story in the lineup brings holiday chaos crashing through the timestream in The Elf Cracker. When naughty children begin mysteriously disappearing across time itself, the eccentric Vix Velix is forced into action. Armed with Father Time’s enchanted clock, the self-proclaimed Elf Cracker races to uncover who is kidnapping the children and why.

The deeper Vix digs into the mystery, the stranger things become. And one terrifying question begins to emerge: Could Vix Velix himself somehow be connected to the disappearances?

For readers craving larger-than-life fantasy warfare, Drahcir’s Slaughter unleashes the issue’s most savage conflict. As the tyrannical Villain King Drahcir hunts down the rebellious Off-Fits to strengthen his growing legions for an incoming threat, a band of outcasts rises against him.

Ryan the Revolver. Incog. Wilsonhog. Ardick. The Golden Gladiator. Orgu.

Each has been manipulated, betrayed, or broken by Drahcir’s rule, and together they ignite a rebellion against his expanding empire. But in a brutal world ruled by conquest and survival, the line between hero and villain quickly begins to blur.

Do the ends justify the means? Or are the Off-Fits marching toward their own destruction?

While Murlant Magazine #1 leans heavily into dark fantasy storytelling, the anthology also dives headfirst into superhero territory with Meddle-Head and Rebolt, two stories that expand the magazine’s universe in entirely different directions.

Meddle-Head Part 1 follows a rogue figure determined to expose the horrifying truth behind the Meta Gene and the experiments hidden beneath the so-called Hero Society. As Meddle-Head attempts to leak classified secrets to the media, powerful heroes are dispatched to silence him before the truth reaches the public.

The result is a paranoid, conspiracy-fueled superhero story where trust is dangerous and the system itself may be corrupt.

Then comes Rebolt, arguably the anthology’s wildest story.

Part cosmic prophecy, part pulp adventure, Rebolt follows Lieber Liefeld, an ordinary man suddenly transported to an alien world and thrust into an ancient conflict. Guided by the mysterious Doctor Bertoff, Lieber learns he may be the prophesied warrior destined to stop the universe-threatening Pink Sorceress before her invasion consumes reality itself.

Caught between destiny and disbelief, Rebolt must rise to meet a future he never asked for.

But what makes Rebolt especially exciting is the story behind the story.

The character is inspired by Blue Bolt, the public-domain creation originally developed through collaboration between legendary comic creators Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, the iconic minds behind Captain America, Boy’s Ranch, and countless Golden Age classics. As massive Kirby fans ourselves, bringing a reimagined version of that legacy into Murlant Magazine #1 felt like the perfect way to celebrate the explosive imagination of classic comics while building something entirely new.

And this is only the beginning!

More Rebolt adventures, expanded behind-the-scenes content, creator material, and new stories are already planned for Murlant Magazine #2 and beyond.

All five stories are available right now physically in Murlant Magazine #1 through Amazon, with digital releases for Rebolt and Meddle-Head planned later this year.

The world of Murlant has officially begun.
